Granite is one of my favorite materials. For walkways, I think it can even compare with brick for elegance. What do you think?
Granite is heavy, and on the expensive side. But it’s extremely durable, and falls easily into landscaping requirements. Here in Florida, one thing I always consider is waterproofing. Granite won’t erode or wash away with the rain.
Granite can hold a lot of weight, which makes it great for driveways. It can have a finished or a rough look. I like it best when used for a more rustic look, personally. Like this:
I know I have rain on the brain, but I love this use of small pieces of granite at the end of a rain chain – perfect way to let the water through the pavers.
