Light, Shadow and Reflection: Add These Elements to Your Home

Houzz.com has a great article showing how to use natural light to its most pleasing effect in your home and landscape settings. Use pools of water – from decorative planters filled with water, to ponds, to swimming pools – and stage elements such as trees and plants in the background, to cast a reflection on the water. This doubles the effective space as well as bringing natural outside elements into your living experience.

Shadow is another great play in our world, especially in Florida where it gets hot and we have plenty of sun. Shadow LOOKS as cool as it actually is, and the mix of light and shadows on a wall coming through a window, or on a floor from roof slats, provide a source of pleasure that never ends.
