Here’s a house that seems to me perfectly landscaped into its setting. As a bonus, it’s Spanish Eclectic style, with red clay roof tiles and an arched entrance way, which to my mind is the only shape for an entrance!
I love Mediterranean architecture in general and Spanish in particular. One of the many virtues of living in Florida – how clever we are – is how well the Spanish style fits here. A few simple palm trees and lots of sun, and a bit of ocean – simple!!
These photos are from a Houzz article on Spanish Eclectic style in the US – California, Florida, Arizona and Texas predominate.
The article is part of the excellent Roots of Style series on American architecture. And the pictures posted in the comments are fabulous. People are so imaginative. I could look at their homes forever.
